‘Here are the doors open’; Despite controversies, AMLO invites Marcelo to return (video)

CDMX.- President Andrés Manuel López Obrador assured that former Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard has the doors open to return to his government where he did “very important work” from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ebrard Casaubón broke up with Morena amid complaints about irregularities in the selection of the coordinator of the defense committees of the fourth transformation, whose process he seeks to challenge.

Yesterday, again, the president called on the presidential candidate to consider returning to the ranks of the government of the fourth transformation.

While the challenge is being resolved, Ebrard tours the country with his new civil association “El Camino de México”, where in addition to promoting it, he denounces the alleged irregularities of which he was a victim.

Today, during his press conference, López Obrador was questioned about whether, like former Secretary of the Interior Adán Augusto López, Ebrard has the doors of his administration open.

“Yes, of course, of course. No, no, no, no, Marcelo did a very important job as Secretary of Foreign Affairs, he helped us a lot, just like Adán,” said the President.

Despite his breakup with Morena, Marcelo Ebrard has spoken well of López Obrador, whom he has said he is very fond of and has assured that he would never harm him.

“I have immense affection for President López Obrador, I have been his most loyal collaborator, I would never do him harm for political reasons,” he said on September 11.

Regarding Ebrard’s aspiration to be a presidential candidate, the Tabasco native expressed that “they are legitimate” and said that he respects his plans, but that in his government, both Ebrard and others have their doors open.

“What happens is that we all have our aspirations and they are legitimate; to say, ‘let’s see, I’ve already been here, I want to participate in something else’, but here the doors are open for many of those who are thinking about other issues, other plans, that is respected,” said López Obrador.
