“Zlatan”, the film about Ibrahimovic, arrives in cinemas on 11 November. Written by Jakob Beckman and David Lagercrantz, taken from the autobiography “Io, Ibra” edited by Rizzoli that Lagercrantz wrote together with Ibrahimović himself translated into more than 30 languages and published in Italy by Rizzoli, is directed by Jens Sjogren and distributed by Lucky Red and Universal Pictures.
Zlatan tells the story of growth and transformation of a man who went from the suburbs to success. Football was the liberation of Zlatan Ibrahimovic from a difficult environment: his remarkable talent and self-confidence catapulted him against all odds to the top of international football, leading him to play in teams such as Ajax Amsterdam, Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United. To play the future striker two actors: Dominic Bajraktari Andersson (11-13 years) and Granit Rushiti (17-23 years). Ibrahimović was involved in the project and provided advice at every stage of the script writing process.
His striking phrases have become quotes from the world of football and beyond: “you must know that I have a philosophy. I don’t care what people think and I’ve never been comfortable with decent guys. Because remember: you can remove the boy from the ghetto, but not the ghetto from the boy ”.
