At the Chapel of Rest in the Ex-Presidential House, San Jacinto, the Salvadoran heroes who died in the air tragedy on September 8 were honored as they deserve, where President Nayib Bukele, First Lady Gabriela de Bukele and officials attended to say their last goodbyes.

“The main reason for defeating crime has been God, but God works through people like these 8 heroes,” said President Bukele.

The president reiterated the courage and unquestionable work of each of the 8 heroes, who worked tirelessly to guarantee the peace and security of Salvadorans. He also stated that winning the War Against Gangs has been thanks to God and thanks to the work of each of these heroes who gave their lives to fight crime, a test of maximum sacrifice.

Commissioner General Mauricio Antonio Arriaza Chicas; Commissioner Romulo Pompilio Romero Torres; Commissioner Douglas Omar Garcia Funes; Corporal Abel Antonio Arevalo; Lieutenant Jonathan Alexander Raymundo Moran; Lieutenant Alexis Alberto Quijano Lopez; Sub-Sergeant Gerson Ricardo Batres Lucero; and Attorney David Heman Cruz Guevara will be remembered by their families, friends and the Salvadoran population as those heroes who gave everything for their country and their unattainable work and dedication.
