The details surrounding the attempted rape of a 20-year-old on a beach in Salamina last Monday are shocking.
The girl was lucky because a friend of hers rushed to the scene immediately and managed to save her from the dangerous 35-year-old who approached and threatened her.
The description of the 39-year-old who saved the 20-year-old
The friend of the 20-year-old, Achilleas Gkigkilas, described, speaking today on Mega’s Live News show, the terrifying moments his friend experienced and how he managed to save her from her would-be rapist.
According to what the 39-year-old Achilleas said, the 20-year-old girl was on a beach in Salamina when a 35-year-old man followed her and threatened that if he didn’t rape her, he would pull out his knife and stab her.
The girl managed to call her 39-year-old friend – who runs a business relatively close to the location – and then rushed into the sea to save herself.
The 35-year-old would-be rapist followed her into the water, but at that moment, her friend arrived, who also recorded on video what transpired.
“I hit him and I would do it again”
“This guy was chasing the girl. As soon as I saw him approaching her, I started recording a video. He panicked, and I recorded him so he would narrate in detail what he was doing,” said the 39-year-old Achilleas, who rushed to help his friend.
“I hit him and I would do it again, just like any reasonable person would, given what’s been happening lately,” he emphatically added.

As you will see in the video, the girl comes out safely from the sea, and the would-be rapist tries to explain with excuses how he mistook her for someone else.
As he comes out of the sea, the 39-year-old friend of the girl punches him, while, as you will see, he admits that he lied, claiming he had a knife.
What the father of the 20-year-old said
The father of the 20-year-old also spoke on the same show, stating, among other things, that his daughter went into the sea to swim to safety, and the perpetrator followed her.
He also mentioned the young man who saved his daughter, saying: “He was a friend of my daughter, she called him and said, ‘someone is bothering me here at the beach.’ There was no way to escape, because he came down the stairs, and those were the stairs he needed to go up to leave.”
“The kid is in shock. We are also trying to calm him down a bit. My child could have drowned as well,” the father added.
