Former president Hery Rajaonarimampianina is entering the running for the next presidential election. He is officially a candidate in the November 9 election. Yesterday afternoon, he submitted his candidacy to the High Constitutional Court (HCC) accompanied by the leaders of his party, the HVM. He is the 17th candidate to have submitted his applications to Ambohidahy since August 25.
During the 2018 presidential election, Hery Rajaoanarimampianina was eliminated in the first round. He obtained around 8% of the votes cast. Despite this poor score, he wants to try his luck again this year. Hery Rajaonarimampianina will once again find himself confronting the two brothers enemies of politics, Marc Ravalomanana and Andry Rajoelina as well as one of his former supporters, who became a candidate, like Siteny Randrianasoloniaiko, considered the one of the favorites in this next presidential race.
The big boss of HVM believes that the economic and social situation of the Malagasy has deteriorated further since his departure to power in 2018. In terms of infrastructure, the power in place would only have fulfilled the commitments it already has initiated under his mandate according to his statements.
