Herzog called to congratulate Putin on Novi Good and was invited to visit Russia

President Yitzhak Herzog spoke today (Friday) with Russian President Vladimir Putin and congratulated him on the occasion of Novi Good. During the conversation, President Putin invited Herzog to visit Russia, and Herzog invited Putin back for the inauguration of the World War II Jewish Warriors Museum named after his father, the late President Chaim Herzog, who is expected to open in 2022.

Herzog congratulated the President of Russia and the Russian people on the occasion of the new civil year and the holiday of Novi Good and noted the good relations between the countries. President Putin noted that recently marks the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Both sides emphasized the wide and evolving collaborations in various fields and especially in economics, science and agriculture. The President thanked President Putin for his statement regarding the security of the State of Israel and its citizens, and the two discussed various bilateral issues.
