President Yitzhak Herzog issues a condolence message to the families of those killed in the Bnei Brak attack and asks the public to refrain from disseminating information that could harm them.

“The soul is torn and the heart aches when despicable terrorists again shed the blood of innocents. Our steadfast spirit, which has already overcome terrorist attacks and wars, will again this time overcome the hatred of our enemies.

“I send my condolences to the families of the mourners, and pray with the whole house of Israel for the recovery of the wounded. I am confident that the security forces will do their job faithfully, and call on the public to show solidarity and responsibility and let them act resolutely, quickly and accurately.”

“Despite the pain, and despite the hard feelings, I seek to act sensitively and not distribute videos and messages that could harm families whose worlds have just been destroyed.”

As you may recall, President Herzog is expected to visit Ramat Amon tomorrow (Wednesday), at the invitation of King Abdullah of Jordan, for a public and well-publicized visit. During the visit, the President and King of Jordan will hold a four-way meeting followed by a bilateral meeting attended by advisers to the two leaders. At the end of the meetings, the President will return to Israel.
