“Perfect game” didn’t help at the World Cup

In nine throws to 501 points: Damon Heta achieved something extraordinary at the Darts World Cup. However, that doesn’t save him from elimination.
The Australian Damon Heta achieved the second nine-darter in this tournament at the World Darts Championship in London. “The Heat”, as Heta is called, managed the “perfect game” in the third leg of the second set against the Englishman Luke Woodhouse, in which a professional plays the 501 points with the minimum number of nine throws to zero. Before Heta, the Dutchman Christian Kist had already achieved this at the World Cup.
Still, it wasn’t enough to win. Co-favorite Heta lost a 3-1 lead and lost the first game after Christmas 3-4. Kist also lost his encounter with the nine-darter afterwards. The German professional Martin Schindler managed eight perfect darts in the second round game against Callan Rydz and then missed the double twelve by millimeters. Schindler was eliminated without a chance with 0:3.
