The Hezbollah announced late Saturday night that it launched “dozens” of rockets against Israel, in a show of solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza and as retaliation for recent Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon.
“The Islamic Resistance included the settlement of Beit Hillel (in northern Israel) in its target list and bombarded it for the first time with dozens of rockets,” states the announcement from the pro-Iranian movement.

They urge their citizens to leave Lebanon
After the USA and the UK, France also called today for its citizens in Lebanon to leave the country due to the risk of military escalation in the Middle East, as announced by the foreign ministry in a travel advisory.
The French foreign ministry reiterated that it advises French citizens not to travel to Lebanon.
It is noted that both the UK and the USA have once again urged their citizens to leave Lebanon, amid increasing fears of a war outbreak between Israel and the Lebanese organization Hezbollah.
The US embassy in Beirut urged American citizens to leave “on any available flight.” Although many flights to and from the capital have been canceled or postponed, “there are available options,” the embassy mentioned in its statement. “We encourage those wishing to leave Lebanon to book any available ticket, even if the flight does not depart immediately or does not follow their preferred route,” it added.
In his statement, the British foreign minister also urged British citizens to leave “now” while “commercial flights are available.” “Tension has risen and the situation could deteriorate quickly (…) My message to British citizens is clear: leave now,” stated David Lammy.
The Foreign Office requested that Britons who remain in Lebanon inform the local consular authorities to stay updated on the situation. According to London, “military personnel” will be deployed soon “in the area” to provide support to British embassies and assist British citizens. Royal Air Force helicopters will also be “on standby” to intervene if necessary.
Large deployment of warships and aircraft by the USA
The USA is carrying out a large deployment of warships and fighter aircraft in the Middle East to be ready to assist in defending Israel, presumably anticipating attacks from Iran and its proxies, as well as in an effort to prevent them, with the significant firepower being amassed in the volatile region.
Tension remains high in the Middle East region just days after the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Iran and a key commander of the Lebanese Shiite militia Hezbollah.
Missile defense forces have been placed on heightened alert for deployment, the Pentagon announced, adding that its commitment to defend Israel was “ironclad.”
