The death toll from the explosion of wireless devices in various areas in Lebanon has risen to 10 people, including a girl and a woman, and about 2,750 others have been injured, according to what the Lebanese Minister of Health, Firas Al-Abyad, announced, explaining that “there are about 200 seriously injured people, and about 100 are in critical condition.”

Al-Abyad pointed out that among the deceased was “the son of Hezbollah MP Ali Ammar,” and information also indicated that “there are 200 injuries in critical condition, and that among the injuries also is the son of Hezbollah MP Hassan Fadlallah, and the son of Hezbollah’s liaison and coordination officer Wafiq Safa, and the most prominent injuries are in the fingers and eyes.”

Hezbollah held Israel “fully responsible for this criminal aggression, which also targeted civilians and led to the deaths of a number of martyrs and the injury of a large number of others,” stressing that “this treacherous and criminal enemy will certainly receive its just punishment for this sinful aggression, whether it expects it or not.”

Hezbollah expressed its “condolences for the dead and its solidarity with the wounded,” stressing that there is a “difficult and separate reckoning” for the ongoing operations to support the Gaza Strip awaiting the Israelis.

Hezbollah said: “The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon will continue today, as in all the past days, its blessed operations to support Gaza, its people and its resistance, and to defend Lebanon, its people and its sovereignty.”

The party stressed that “this path is continuous and separate from the difficult reckoning that the criminal enemy must face for its massacre on Tuesday that it committed against our people, our families, and our fighters in Lebanon. This is another reckoning that will come, God willing.”

The statement concluded: “What happened yesterday will increase our determination and resolve to continue on the path of jihad and resistance, and we are absolutely certain of God Almighty’s promise to the faithful, patient mujahidin of victory, God willing.”

In a related context, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova confirmed that “the explosion of pagers in Lebanon requires investigation and international attention.”

Commenting on the widespread explosion of pager communication devices in Lebanon, Zakharova said: “This explosion requires an investigation, and specialists must diagnose what happened.”

She added: “This explosion requires an investigation, and requires international attention to this issue. The diagnosis of the incident must be carried out by specialists.”

In turn, Iran sent a volunteer relief team from the Iranian Red Crescent to Lebanon, including 12 doctors and specialists, 12 nurses and paramedics, to provide relief and treat those injured in the pager explosions.
