Hezbollah put into use ‘heavy’ rockets of the Burkan type that intensify the damage to houses and buildings in the north of the country

A survey of buildings conducted by the authorities in the north and the property tax revealed that approximately 500 houses and buildings were damaged by Hezbollah fire since the outbreak of the war. Most of the buildings were relatively lightly damaged, but some were irreparably destroyed.
The survey was conducted for the purpose of coordinating the initial rehabilitation works in localities where the security situation allows it. According to the findings, the Burkan and Flak 1 missiles, which were put into use by the Hezbollah organization last week, greatly increase the dimensions of the destruction, last Saturday more than 50 houses were damaged in the settlement of Shlomi from a heavy barrage fired at a nearby outpost.

The Burkan is a heavy rocket that fires for short ranges. It can carry a heavy warhead and cause significant damage. According to Hezbollah, it entered the organization’s shooting arsenal at the beginning of November and, as mentioned, its use increased in the last week.
