In this situation, the district collector has instructed the people on the banks of Chalakudy river to stay immediately.

As more water has been released from the Parambikulam and Peringalkuth dams and the rain has intensified in the Chalakudy River catchment area, the water level in the Chalakudy river is rising. Beachgoers should be cautious. People in low-lying areas should move to safer places as soon as possible. The people in the areas where people were displaced during the 2018 and 2019 floods have also been instructed to move to camps.
