High Court Orders Actors Prakashraj and Bobby Simha to Answer for Building Bungalow in Kodaikanal without Permission

In a recent development, the Madurai High Court has issued an order for actors Prakash Raj and Bobby Simha to respond in a case regarding the construction of a modern bungalow in Kodaikanal without obtaining proper permission.

The Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed by S. Muhammad Junath of Vatthalakundu, Dindigul district, in the High Court branch. The petition claims that both actors have built a modern bungalow in Bothupparai of Kodaikanal Wilpatti Panchayat without obtaining the necessary permission as per Tamil Nadu Building Permit Rules.

The petition also highlights the importance of following building regulations in hilly areas like Kodaikanal to prevent natural calamities. According to the petition, the construction of the bungalows without proper permission has the potential to cause massive damage due to landslides.

The petition came up for a hearing in the session of Justices M. Sundar and R. Sakthivel. Government pleader Thilakumar argued that actor Bobby Simha has constructed a 4000 sq.ft. building after obtaining permission for a 2400 sq.ft. building in his mother’s name. On the other hand, actor Prakashraj has not yet been given permission for the construction of his house.

In consideration of these claims, the judges have ordered the Dindigul District Collector, as well as actors Prakashraj and Bobby Simha, to respond to the petition. The hearing has been adjourned to January 2, with the judges indicating that appropriate action will be taken in relation to buildings constructed without obtaining permission.

The case has sparked public interest as it involves popular actors, and the outcome will be eagerly awaited by many.
