Idukki: High Court orders postponement of the mission to arrest Arikomban for drugging. The court also ordered that the drug shooting is enough after hearing the case on 29th of this month. The order of the High Court was to conduct a special sitting on a petition filed by an animal welfare organization against the capture of Arikomban.
The petition pointed out that the forest department is taking wrong steps to catch the rice horn. The elephant should not be drugged till the 29th. But the court also stated that there is no hindrance to the forest department in tracking Arikomban during this period.
The High Court division bench’s order comes as the forest department is moving ahead with preparations for drug shooting in Arikompane on Sunday.
