jpnn.comKEBON JERUK – A high school student died after being hit by a train in North Kedoya, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta, after previously being involved in a brawl in the area, Thursday night.
“Yes (the victim was involved in a brawl), during the Maghrib call to prayer. The victim was fighting from the opposite direction (Kebon Jeruk). At that time there was a train, I told him to move back. His friends (who had not yet fought) from the direction of the West Jakarta Police, immediately moved back,” said Railway Crossing Guard (PJL) Amarullah Hadi to the press at the scene.
Despite being warned, said Amarullah, the brawl at the railroad crossing was unavoidable, resulting in the victim being hit by the train and dying.
“There was a brawl at the railroad crossing. They attacked each other, when the train from Tangerang approached, two people were almost hit, one avoided it, the victim could not avoid it. The train was going fast at that time,” said Amarullah.
Local residents, he said, also tried to break up the fight and reprimand those involved in the brawl, but they ignored them.
“Yes, we have scolded them,” said Amarullah.
Meanwhile, Bani, another resident at the location, saw the victim wearing a high school student uniform.
“Wearing (a high school uniform). Still wearing a white and gray uniform,” said Bani.
