High-Speed Chase Ends on 405 Freeway After Suspected DUI Driver Encounters Traffic

A high-speed chase that raced through multiple cities came to a dramatic halt on the 405 Freeway on Saturday night. The pursuit, which began in Bell after reports of a possible DUI driver, ended when the driver encountered traffic on the freeway due to a car crash.

The chase started around 9:50 p.m. in Bell and escalated when the driver refused to yield to authorities. The California Highway Patrol took over the chase as the driver reached excessive speeds, even reaching 125 mph at some point. The driver zoomed through several cities, including Hawthorne, Los Angeles, Alhambra, Cerritos, and Long Beach, before finally hitting traffic on the northbound 405 Freeway near Inglewood.

Aerial footage from NewsChopper 4 captured the driver stopping with the traffic and then surrendering to police, along with his passenger.

Authorities have not released the name of the driver or the charges he may face. The incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of driving under the influence and the potential consequences that come with it.
