The results of a US multicenter study show that the risk of acute kidney injury (AKI) is significantly higher in patients treated with vancomycin in combination with piperacillin tazobactam (VAN-TZP) compared to vancomycin in combination with ceftolozane tazobactam (VAN-C /T), even after adjusting for independent predictors for AKI.
