Prague – Two German show jumpers and their team won the most valuable show jumping event in the world. Christian Kukuk and Philipp Weishaupt together with their Irish teammate Eoin McMahon won as Team Riesenbeck International in Prague.

The prize money in the team competition of the Global Champions Tour playoff tournament was 6.5 million euros. The winning team received 2.5 million of these. However, the riders do not collect the entire bonus; instead, the team and horse owners have to contribute. Marcus Ehning from Borken was part of the second-placed team Valkenswaard United, which was tied on points but slower.

Vice European Champion Weishaupt and his silver horse Zineday remained without a drop in two difficult rounds, as did McMahon. Kukuk, who also works for Ludger Beerbaum in Riesenbeck, received four penalty points each with Checker.

The evening before, the German starters had played no role. Julien Epaillard won the Super Grand Prix, worth 1.26 million euros, with Dubai du Cedre on Saturday evening. Katrin Eckermann finished seventh with Cala Mandia as the best German. However, most riders did not use their top horses and rode them in the higher-paying team competition.
