The 81st Golden Globe Awards kicked off this year’s Hollywood awards season, with a star-studded event. The event held in Beverly Hills, Calif., honored the past year’s most popular television shows and movies.
“Oppenheimer” was the big winner of the night, taking home five Golden Globes, including the Best Motion Picture, Drama. “Succession” and “The Bear” also stood out, winning four and three awards, respectively. “Barbie” led the field with nine nominations but only received two awards.
Lily Gladstone made a historic win as the first Indigenous woman to win a Golden Globe for Best Actress. She received a standing ovation after delivering her heartfelt acceptance speech.
