jpnn.com – Member of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Ima Mahdiah, regrets the alleged discrimination in the form of a ban on the use of the hijab at Medistra Hospital.

According to him, hospitals should respect all religions in Indonesia, including the way Muslims dress.

“We are in a country that respects the five established religions, here the government must step in so that every Indonesian citizen has religious freedom,” said Ima when contacted, Monday (2/9).

Ima asked the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) and the DKI Jakarta Health Service to conduct checks at Medistra Hospital.

“If it is really them who issued (the regulation), Medistra is under the Ministry of Health, so the Ministry of Health must impose sanctions,” he said.

This young politician will also ask the DKI Health Service to conduct an investigation.

Ima emphasized that there should be no ban on the hijab for women in Jakarta, especially in hospitals.

“Indonesian citizens in Jakarta are free to wear the hijab, so here no one can prohibit the use of the hijab, no one can prohibit it,” he said.
