Hilario “N” found guilty after femicide of Alma Lourdes

Hilario “N” was found guilty of the murder of Alma Lourdesa 30-year-old young woman who worked as a cashier in a butcher shop in Cajeme, Sonora.

The events occurred on August 19, after a heated argument between the accused and the victim, after Alma asked the man to leave the establishment after inappropriate behavior.

The judge in the case emphasized that the evidence presented by the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) were “suitable and relevant”demonstrating the responsibility of the accused in the crimes of femicide and sexual harassment.

The oral trial hearing, which began on September 23, included approximately 30 testimonies that corroborated Hilario’s version of events and actions.

The case generated great indignation on social networks, where Alma Lourdes’ family demanded justice. His mother, after hearing the court’s decision, declared:

“The truth is, God never left us and has shown us that this great judge we had was wonderful; thanks to the fact that justice was done for Alma Lourdes.”

The FGE reported that Hilario “N” also faces charges of sexual harassment, in relation to Ana Itzel, the victim’s sister, who had reported inappropriate behavior by the accused in the past.

The final sentence will be announced on October 21, and it is expected that the man will face a maximum sentence of up to 70 years in prison for femicide and 8 years for sexual harassment.
