Patna: The stories of the secret meeting of Lalu Prasad Yadav and his son Tejashwi Yadav with Hina Shahab, wife of Siwan’s Bahubali MP Shahabuddin, are now going to be made public. This meeting is being discussed a lot in Bihar because in the Lok Sabha elections held this year, Hina Shahab contested as an independent from Siwan against RJD candidate Awadh Bihari Chaudhary. She could not win the election, but she definitely got the credit for defeating the RJD candidate. She also got more votes than the RJD candidate. Hina contested the Lok Sabha elections from Siwan twice even when Shahabuddin was alive, but both times she was unsuccessful. This was the first time after Shahabuddin’s death, when she rejected RJD’s offer and decided to contest the election as an independent. She did this because after Shahabuddin’s death, no RJD leader had even enquired about her.
Lalu went to persuade someone for the first time
It is not known who mediated the meeting of Lalu and Tejashwi with Hina Shahab, but this meeting took place at the residence of a Legislative Councilor in Boring Road. The Legislative Councilor was not present during the meeting. Another special thing about the meeting was that Lalu Prasad never went to convince any leader in his political life, but this time he met Hina with Tejashwi in the dark of the night. Officially both the parties have maintained silence on what happened in the hour-long conversation. However, sources close to Hina say that most of the time was spent in clearing each other’s grievances. Both sides also put forward their own proposals.
Prashant Kishor increased the worries of RJD
Jan Suraj leader Prashant Kishor has increased RJD’s worries. The way Muslim leaders and voters are leaning towards Jan Suraj, there is a danger of RJD’s traditional Muslim-Yadav social equation breaking down. RJD has seen the impact of Asaduddin Owaisi in Seemanchal. This is the reason why Lalu-Tejashwi have started placating their disgruntled old Muslim leaders. Lalu feels that if RJD loses in the assembly elections next year, then Tejashwi Yadav’s dream of becoming CM will be stuck for a long time.
Offer to make Hina an MLC
Hina put forth a condition for returning to RJD that RJD should give ticket to her son Osama from the seat of his choice in the assembly elections to be held next year. The party itself should arrange a Rajya Sabha seat for him. Lalu rejected both these proposals at first. Instead, he gave a new proposal. Lalu told Hina that she will have to wait a little for Osama. However, if she wants, the party can arrange to send her to the Legislative Council. According to sources, Hina Shahab refused to immediately agree to Lalu’s proposal. For this, he has asked her to tell her decision after thinking over it.
