Lucknow: A gang-rape case of a schoolgirl in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, has come to light. In addition to torturing children by staying them in school all night, they were also accused of cooking food for them. The students themselves have spoken out about Principal Yogesh’s sexual harassment.
It is alleged that 17 students of a private school in Muzaffarnagar were sexually assaulted by the principal and his accomplice. The 10th class students were called to the school in the name of practical examination. The students were asked to come to the school the next day saying that there was a practical test at another school and that they had to prepare for it. He was then allegedly lodged in a school and tortured after being given drugs in his diet. The incident took place on November 18. Police have registered a case against two persons, including Principal Yogesh, in connection with the incident.
‘School principal Yogesh called 17 girls to the school in the name of practical examination. Then the children were given a lot to write about. After that he was asked to stay at school for the night as well. The next day it was said to be more practical. Then the girls made kichdi. But the principal’s response was that it was not cooked properly. The principal then cooked the food himself and gave it to the girls. After consuming this kichdi, the girls became unconscious and sexually abused them, ‘the complaint said.
‘We were sexually abused by Principal Sir. There were 17 of us there. When we first made the kichdi we were told it was not ripe. The principal called us for a practical exam, ‘said one of the students, who was sexually assaulted.
At the same time, one student replied that she did not know whether the date of the practical examination had been announced earlier. When asked which subject is the practical test, the student said that the principal said it was a practical test of ‘Hindi’ and gave her some writing.
Another student said she fainted after eating the food provided by the principal. The student also revealed that the principal pressured her not to disclose the incident.
Widespread protests have erupted over the incident in which schoolgirls were sexually assaulted. It is alleged that the parents, who got information from their children, initially lodged a complaint with the police but refused to register a case. And then MLA. The police registered an FIR after Pramod Uthwal intervened. The parents also alleged that it was registered.
Meanwhile, an FIR has been registered against two persons, including the principal. Muzaffarnagar Superintendent of Police Abhishek Yadav said that five special teams have been deployed to nab the accused. The station house officer who was the first to fall in the incident has been suspended. He added that the case has been registered against the accused under various sections including Pokso.
