In less than a month, the legendary Wolfurt Trophy, the absolute highlight of the Vorarlberg beach volleyball year 2023, is on the program. And the chances are not that bad that there will be a “Sister Act” by the Wolfurt Hinteregger sisters, as in 2021.

The win2day Beach Volleyball Tour Pro Masters in Seewalchen am Attersee (Upper Austria) starts tomorrow Thursday for Sarah Hinteregger and partner Laura Rieger. In the Litzlberg lido, the duo has to fight for a place in the 16-strong main field in the qualification. “Getting into the pool phase is our first big goal,” explains the 20-year-old from Wolfurt, who recently failed to reach the round of 16 with Rieger at the tournament in Baden after qualifying. “If it works with the main field, a final place in the top 10 would be the next goal,” says the student. Wildcard is required Something that last year with fifth place – alongside Sara Neiss – also succeeded at the Wolfurt home tournament. It is currently still unclear with whom she will compete on the courts on the Bregenzer Ach from August 10th. Even a “Sister Act” with sister Lina – like in 2021 – seems possible. “She should have time. But after a season without beach games, she’s missing the points,” says Sarah. Means: The “Hinti” sisters need a wildcard…
