Shaïna’s ex-boyfriend, seventeen years old at the time of the events, was convicted of having lured the young girl, probably pregnant with him, into a shed in order to stab her and then burn her alive. His conviction became final on Wednesday, since neither the condemned nor the prosecution appealed the decision.
On Thursday, the family’s lawyer, Me Negar Haeri, deplored in a press release that the prosecution did not appeal this sentence, which was much lower than the thirty years of imprisonment he had requested. “Violence against women remains a subsidiary matter”she thought.
