The measure of increased guardianship under which the 88-year-old and seriously ill Alain Delon was placed is “excessive” and undoubtedly perceived as a humiliation by the actor, AFP reported, citing the lawyer of Anushka Delon, the daughter of the “sacred monster” of French cinema.
Frank Berton said on RTL radio that he shared the opinion of Alain Delon’s lawyer, noting that the measure applied was perhaps “excessive”.
Berton questions why the two-month-old measure wasn’t extended, or why the actor wasn’t simply placed in simple custody.
Alain Delon, who suffered a stroke in 2019 and also suffers from lymphoma, was placed under legal protection in January.
On Thursday, the measure was transformed into “enhanced custody” – a “difficult measure” that is taken “when an adult under guardianship needs to be controlled in the activities of everyday life” and that prevents him in particular from managing his money on his own discretion, the lawyer recalled.
“I think this measure is excessive and more than that – humiliating. It must be something that is difficult for him to live with, because he has not lost his mind,” says Berton.
According to him, Alain Delon watches the news, he expresses himself. In an expert opinion from January, it was stated that the actor certainly has some changes in his mind, but he has not lost it, adds Anushka Delon’s lawyer.
Frank Berton indicated that his client specifically wanted medical information about the treatment of Alain Delon, who he said was currently only under the care of a general practitioner.
“Sometimes he’s fine, sometimes he’s not. When it comes to talking to his daughter, he oscillates between ‘you’re annoying me’ and ‘I’m taking the medicine they give me,'” the lawyer says.
Since the beginning of January, the three children of Alain Delon have been waging a fratricidal war through the media and the courts, each of them swearing that they want to protect the film legend, whose health is deteriorating after a stroke in 2019, writes BTA.
His sons Antony, 59, and Alain-Fabian, 29, believe the actor is being manipulated by their sister, Anushka, 33, who is allegedly hiding his health from them and wants to send him back to Switzerland to avoid paying of excessive inheritance taxes.
Anushka, on her part, blames her brothers for endangering the life of the “Pool” and “Cheetah” actor. Alain Delon’s daughter claims that she wanted to take their father to Switzerland to continue his treatment there.
