San Sebastián Klasika: Primoz Roglic ⁤Out, But Team Still Aiming High

A few days ago, ⁤the preliminary list of‌ participants‍ for the San Sebastián Klasika ⁢was announced,‍ including Primoz Roglic.⁤ The Slovenian, recovering from a fracture in ⁤his lower back, appeared to be on track to return ‌to competition there to test himself for the Vuelta a España.

However, his ⁤team recently announced the lineup for Klasika without Roglic, casting doubt on his participation ⁤in the final and most important part⁤ of the season. While it wouldn’t be unusual for a runner‍ to skip pre-Vuelta competition, Roglic is known for his intense training and pre-race preparation.

The event itself could be seen as an ideal test for his injury, as a‌ lumbar ⁤fracture is no small matter in cycling, given ‌the high pressure placed on the area during pedaling. Recent sightings of Roglic training in the ⁢mountains‌ suggest his recovery is ‌progressing smoothly.

Red Bull BORA ⁤will travel to the Basque ⁢race on Saturday with Dani Martínez and Sergio Higuita at the helm, likely searching for a break in ⁢the Spanish round. Notably, Martínez was recently added to the event’s selection, which starts in Lisbon on August 17th.

Red Bull BORA for San Sebastian:

  • Roger⁤ Adrian
  • Giovanni ‌Aleotti
  • Alexander Hajek
  • Sergio Higuita
  • Florian Lipowitz
  • Danny Martinez
  • Ben Zwiehoff
