The young man set fire to the church, angry that his wife was donating all the money he earned from his work to the church. The incident took place in the village of Pargolov in St. Petersburg, Russia. Russian media reported that a fire broke out in the mosque on June 26. The names of the wife and husband and other details have not been released.

The church was set on fire by a 36 – year – old man. He is the father of four children. His wife is active in church volunteering. Their method is to donate the entire proceeds to the church. The wife worked day and night and donated her husband’s money to the church without spending it on the family.

The husband has repeatedly argued with his wife over the issue. Prohibited them several times. Yet to no avail. One day the two got into an argument over this. Then the blind man went straight and set the church on fire.

He set fire to The Great Church in St. Basil’s Pargolov. Her husband left home that morning after a fight and drove straight to the church. He also had a petrol can in his car. When he reached the church, he poured petrol on the walls and floor. After making sure no one was inside, the church was set on fire. The roof and walls of the church were made of wood. So the fire engulfed the whole building. But soon the parishioners ran away and put out the fire. If we had waited for the fire brigade to arrive, not only the church but also the houses in the area would have been gutted. However, the fire caused extensive damage to the church. The fire destroyed most of the church’s exterior and caused no significant damage inside.

Local news agencies reported the incident. The people wept when they saw the misery of their place of worship. People initially thought the fire was caused by a fault in the electrical wiring. Others saw it as a sign that God was building a bigger church. It did not take long for the police to catch the real culprit anyway. The locals realized that the attack was not caused by a power outage but by a member of the group.

When apprehended, he pleaded not guilty. Instead, he told the police everything openly. He appealed to the police to put him in jail. However, the judge, who was moved by his story, reportedly released him.
