Historian Arnold Suppan will once again be Vice President of the OeAW

The Eastern European historian Arnold Suppan (76) is again Vice President of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW).

A few days ago the numismatist Michael Alram resigned from this position after eight years for personal reasons, the Austrian Academy of Sciences announced in a broadcast. Suppan has already held several management positions for the Academy. From 2003 to 2011 he was chairman of the historical commission, from 2009 to 2011 he also held the office of general secretary and from 2011 to 2013 he served as vice-president for the first time. His current term of office runs until the end of the term of office of the Presidium under the leadership of OeAW President Anton Zeilinger in June 2022.
