Lefteris Petrounias won the bronze medal in Paris with a score of 15.100 and entered the pantheon of history with his third medal in the Olympic Games.

A historic medal for Lefteris Petrounias, with the Greek Olympian achieving a precedent-setting accomplishment in the entire Olympic History of artistic gymnastics.

A century after the definitive inclusion of rings in the Olympic Games, since 1924, the gold medalist from Rio and bronze medalist from Tokyo has become the first athlete in the history of the sport to win three medals.

The “Midas of rings”, who has already broken a national record in the French capital, is the only representative of Greek Gymnastics with three qualifications for Olympic finals.

Petrounias’s performance scored 15.100, placing him third on the podium behind the Chinese Liu and Zhou and he won the bronze medal, just like in Tokyo in 2021.

Detailed scoring of all athletes in the rings final

  1. Yang Liu – 15.300 points
  2. Jingyuan Zhou – 15.233 points
  3. Lefteris Petrounias – 15.100 points
