When director Mani Ratnam decided to shoot a few more scenes for ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’, when he asked the actors of the film, the three main actors gave some reasons for not shooting.

Director Mani Ratnam invited Karthi to shoot again after deciding to add more. However, it is said that Karthi refused to participate in the shoot as he agreed to act in new films and said that he would not be able to grow long hair again to play the role of Vandiyathevan.
