The empty seat left by Takaaki will be filled by Thai racer Somkiat Chantra.

LCR Team Principal Lucio Cecchinello said that they believe now is the time to welcome a great Asian talent like Somkiat Chantra.

“We think he deserves a chance at the highest level of two-wheeled competition.”

“During his years in Moto2, he showed the potential and skills to develop and become a strong rider in MotoGP,” explained Lucio.

Somkiat became the first Thai rider to compete in MotoGP’s premier class.

Where, Chantra will join the LCR Honda satellite team starting the 2025 MotoGP season.

Somkiat Chantra also became the second Southeast Asian racer to race in MotoGP, previously there was Hafizh Syahrin from Malaysia.

The empty seat left by Takaaki Nakagami at LCR Honda MotoGP will be filled by Thai racer Somkiat Chantra.
