Berlin: The treasures of Adolf Hitler’s army are being searched continuously. In fact, it is believed that after Germany’s defeat in the Second World War, Nazi soldiers buried the treasure in a Dutch village. It contained gold coins, jewellery, diamonds and other valuable things. After the Nazi treasure map was revealed, the search for this treasure started on a large scale. The map reportedly showed where gold coins and jewelery worth 15 million pounds (about 1.5 billion Indian rupees) were buried during World War II. According to The Sun report, confidential documents have been released by the archivist. After the hunters visited an unknown Dutch village named Ommeren. The search for treasure began in this village, about 80 kilometers south-east of Amsterdam, after the hand-drawn map appeared in 2023. The documents were released by the National Archives of the Netherlands in January 2023.
what is shown on the map
This map marks the spot where four German soldiers buried boxes full of valuables at the end of the war. On this map, a road was marked south of the small settlement. This gave rise to the frantic search. It is believed that in 1945 these boxes contained gold coins, gems, watches and jewellery.
According to War History Online, the treasure was looted in 1944 during a Nazi bombing of a bank in Arnhem, 40 kilometers east of Ommermen. Experts believe that Nazi soldiers became worried after the defeat in the war and decided to bury it. In such a situation, efforts have been made continuously to find it.
The search lasted for a long time
The village was visited by explorers and visitors over the next several months after the map was released. None of these gold hunters have been able to find the treasure. It was also said that the valuables that were once in the village have been removed. Despite this, detectives have continued their search in the area. Dutch officials speculate that the treasure may have been dug up by a local man who saw it being buried, or by a surviving German soldier.
