Hitman 3 is being renamed The Assassination World, bringing the entire trilogy into one package

Hitman 3 is being renamed Hitman: World of Assassination, with the content of the trilogy streamlined and bundled into a single game.

Announced in a blog post from developer IO Interactive, World of Assassination will become the only modern Hitman game available for purchase starting January 26, as Hitman 1 and 2 have been removed from storefronts. Those who already own Hitman 3 will get an upgrade to the new game for free.

World of Assassination will cost around $70 and includes what was previously known as the Hitman 1 Game of the Year Access Pass (which is basically all content from the original game), Hitman 2 Standard Access Pass (all main content from the second game), and the base Hitman game 3.

The World of Assassination Deluxe Pack can be purchased for $30 which adds the rest of the downloadable content including the Hitman 3 Deluxe Pack, Hitman 3 Seven Deadly Sins Collection, and Hitman 2 Expansion Access.

Those who already own this content won’t have to pay anything extra for the remastered game, and those who own some but not all of the content will be able to purchase the remaining pieces separately, similar to how you currently work. Players who have purchased Hitman 1 or 2 will still be able to access and play the games in their entirety even though they have been removed from storefronts.

“We are very confident that these changes will have a huge positive impact on existing players and new players alike,” the developer said.

“For many gamers, this means enjoying free content. For others, that means much cheaper DLC prices. For new players, who may not be reading this here, will have a much better experience buying Hitman games.”

In our 9/10 review of the original Hitman 3, IGN said, “Rich, rewarding, and hugely replayable, Hitman 3 is one of the best barcode-based rhythm-based offerings it has to offer.”
