Birmingham: Captain Rohit Sharma became the first Indian player to score 300 fours in Twenty20 cricket. The Hitman crossed 300 in four in the second T20I against England in Birmingham on Saturday. Rohit returned with 31 runs off 20 balls as the opener. In addition to the two sixes in the innings, Rohit’s number of fours in his childhood cricket has reached 301 with three more fours.

Rohit is second only to Ireland’s Paul Sterling in the list of international players in four. Sterling’s earnings are 325 fours. Former Indian captain Virat Kohli is third with 298 fours.

Rohit Sharma also holds the record of being the fastest Indian captain to score 1000 runs in Twenty20. Rohit got the feat in the first Twenty20 against England. Rohit rewrote Virat Kohli’s record of crossing 1000 runs from 32 innings. Rohit scored 1000 runs from 29 innings. Rohit is second behind Pakistan captain Babar Azam who has crossed so many runs in 24 innings.
