“From Colombia, we see with emotion how HM King Mohammed VI sets out a vision of intercontinental integration, through the search for a common space between the two shores of the Atlantic, with which the Sovereign wishes to transform neighborly relations into a space of human communion, economic complementarity and international influence,” declared Hernan Olano after the speech addressed by HM the King to the Nation on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of the Green March.

Olano stressed in a statement to MAP that “Colombia has always considered Morocco as our gateway to the African continent and, in the same way, we consider that we should be the beneficiaries of the industrial, automotive, energy and services development, led by the Kingdom of Morocco.”

The Colombian academic noted that the Kingdom is “the spearhead of the African continent due to its geostrategic position, similar to that of Colombia” and which allows both nations to act through alliances and mega-projects of services, in order to benefit from the potential of the countries located on the East and West coasts of the Atlantic Ocean.

In his speech, HM the King stressed his determination to undertake a national upgrading of the coastline, including the Atlantic coast of the Moroccan Sahara.

“If, through its Mediterranean coastline, Morocco is firmly anchored to Europe, its Atlantic side opens up complete access to Africa and a window onto the American space. This is the reason why we are determined to undertake a national upgrade of the coastline, including the Atlantic coastline of the Moroccan Sahara,” affirmed HM the King.

“We are also committed to ensuring that this geopolitical space is the subject of structuring of African scope,” the Sovereign stressed.
