Hoda El Etreby Joins Ahmed El Awady in Sultan El Deeb

Egyptian actress Hoda El Etreby has joined the cast of the upcoming Ramadan 2027 television series Sultan El Deeb, starring actor Ahmed El Awady, and will play the protagonist’s love interest in a narrative set within a working-class Cairo neighborhood.

The announcement arrived through social media when Hoda El Etreby posted to her Instagram story, declaring her participation with the phrase The generation’s bomb love story with Sultan El Deeb, wait for it this Ramadan. The production is slated for the Ramadan 2027 drama season, bringing together a cast that blends established television veterans and newer faces.

Working-Class Conflicts in Nassereya and Early Casting Choices

The series unfolds within the Nassereya district, tracing the life of a young man born into a modest, impoverished family who finds himself tangled in family and social conflicts. Plot details indicate that a pivotal turning point occurs when the protagonist becomes involved in the murder of his stepfather, setting off a cascade of crises that test his loyalties and reshape his path.

Alongside Ahmed El Awady and Hoda El Etreby, the ensemble features Yara El Sokkary, Sawsan Badr, Rania Youssef, Mahmoud Abdel Moghny, Logine Khalifa, and Khaled Mahmoud, alongside child actress Julia Sabry as the lead’s daughter. Production is overseen by Tamer Morsi, with scripts written by Mahmoud Hamdan and direction handled by Mohamed Abdel Salam. Notably, the project marks a return to television drama for actor Khaled Mahmoud after an extended absence.

Creative Partnerships and Returning Collaborations

For Rania Youssef, who takes on the role of the protagonist’s older sister, the project marks another onscreen reunion with El Awady. The production has also added Waleed El Sisi to its roster, who makes his debut acting appearance in the series.

Early Promotional Push and Competitive Staging

Anticipation for the Ramadan schedule is already building across media platforms. Ahmed El Awady shared a promotional teaser for the series, writing that The place you are returning to, we have stamped our mark upon it.

Commentators and followers immediately drew parallels between El Awady’s remarks and promotional efforts from fellow actor Mohamed Ramadan, who has begun teasing his own Ramadan 2027 project titled Ashmawy. The overlapping promotional campaigns highlight an early start to the seasonal television rivalry.

The actress’s television commitments follow a busy previous year that included a supporting role in the Ramadan 2026 comedy Kollohom Behebbou Mody alongside Yasser Galal, as well as a popular folk character portrayal in the period drama Manaa set in 1985. She also made a guest appearance in the summer 2026 film Khali Balak Min Nafsak starring Ahmed El Sakka and Yasmine Abdel Aziz.
