Holiday period registers fewer fatalities compared to 2022

the National Civil Protection Commission, the director Luis Alonso Amaya detailed in the preliminary balance that from July 29 to August 1 the number of deaths due to traffic accidents is 11, which represents a decrease of 10 fatalities with respect to the same period of 2022.

Apart from the registered deaths, 228 traffic accidents, while last year there were 226, in the same period. Injured in traffic accidents report 138 this year, 3 less than 2022.

On the other hand, the director of the Fire Department, Baltazar Solano, noticed an increase in fires registered in vehicles, for which he urged motorists to check them well before going for a walk with their families.

“The Fire Department is deployed nationwide to give people that peace of mind, because we put their lives and health at the center of our actions,” said director Solano.
