The “Albena” holiday village celebrated its 55th birthday with 11,000 tourists, with the largest number of vacationers coming from the Scandinavian Peninsula, the “Operation” director of the complex, Marinela Tsaneva, told BTA. She added that all the hotels that have opened their doors on the territory of the resort for the summer season of 2024 are still operating and will continue, as there is 100% occupancy throughout the complex.
“Bulgarian and Romanian tourists have maintained the level of visits from last year. Tourists from the Scandinavian countries, France, the Czech Republic, Poland are increasing,” said Tsaneva and added that there is an increase in tourists compared to last year and the pace of work is recovering and the tourist flow is reaching its pre-pandemic levels.
She added that about 2,100 employees currently work in the holiday village, one third of whom are foreigners. Among them are those from Nepal, Bali, Indonesia, two kitchen teams from Turkey and workers from Kyrgyzstan.
Marinela Tsaneva pointed out that renovations are planned for the next season in various parts of the complex. The Boryana hotel will be fully renovated, which will become a four-star complex from a three-star complex. The investment in it will not only be from Albena joint-stock company, but also from Der Touristik from Germany. The “Operation” director also said that the design of the Dobrudzha hotel, emblematic of the resort complex, as well as the bazaar and the Arabella hotel, which is expected to be the next five-star hotel on the territory of the complex, is currently being designed. “Caribi” beach bar and “Forest Fairy” camping are also planned for repairs and renovation in the next two or three years, Tsaneva said.
She also added that “Albena” is generally a calm and quiet resort, and tourists prefer hotels on the first line and with a higher category, and they are observed to fill capacity faster than other sites.
“Albena’s five-star hotels will host various events throughout the year. The program includes many sports and congress events that start after the active season. The spa center also works all year round,” Tsaneva said.
The new summer season for “Albena” will start already in April next year, when eight hotels will welcome guests from the Austrian Pension Club. Marinela Tsaneva said that they are returning after a break of several years, and now they will stay within five weeks, writes BTA.
Since August, tourist exhibitions have started in Germany, where the holiday village has its presence, and will be included in similar initiatives in other countries as well.
According to Marinela Tsaneva’s observations, more than 4,000 people watched Vasko Vasilev’s concert on the occasion of the holiday village’s holiday. The confectionary teams of the resort complex prepared the eight cakes with “Albena 55” written on them and which were distributed to the guests. Famous ice cream manufacturers have also joined in with a treat for the guests of the celebration.
On August 24, when it is also the birthday of the vacation village “Albena”, the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency held a closing conference on the project “Europe in the Balkans: A Common Future”, in which representatives of institutions from Turkey, the Republic of North Macedonia, Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria. The issue of LIK magazine “55 years of our Albena in us”, which is dedicated to the resort of the same name, was presented at the “Amelia” hotel.
