Thursday, May 5, tourists are already present in Corsica and take the opportunity to walk. “Spring for hiking is really good, because it’s not too hot and there are not too many people”, says a Slovenian tourist. A group of retirees has embarked on a tour of Corsica and is enjoying the hinterland this season.
In the center of Corte (Haute-Corse), the restaurants are sold out. “For about three, four weeks, there have been people. French, foreigners, there’s really everything and it’s starting really well”, rejoices Julia Clemencin, restaurant manager. Tourism professionals are taking advantage of this promising restart. “It’s much better than last year at the same time”, observes Marlène Mefiant, holiday advisor at the Corte Tourist Office. Corsica hopes to return to a pre-crisis situation, during which it welcomed six million tourists.
