Islamabad: Hollywood star Angelina Jolie visited flood-ravaged Pakistan. During the visit, the star provided help and awareness to the flood victims. Angelina came to Pakistan for a visit after the UN report came out that 16 million children have been affected by floods.

Pictures of the actor visiting the flood affected areas are circulating in the social media of the country. The actor had earlier visited Dadu, one of the flood-affected districts. Meanwhile, the International Rescue Committee thanked them for their contribution to the country.

Abdallah Fadil, the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund representative, said the other day that children in flood-affected areas are malnourished. He also stated that due to this, diarrhea, dengue fever and skin disease are seen in children.

Heavy rains in mid-June caused floods in Pakistan. Later, landslides occurred in various places and houses collapsed. 1,355 people were killed in floods and landslides. More than 600,000 people have been left homeless. A third of Pakistan was submerged in floods for weeks. According to the National Disaster Management Authority, the floods affected 3.3 million people. 1,77,265 people were displaced from their homes. At the same time, the country is facing a disaster due to climate change. Therefore, the Pakistani authorities requested the international community to provide more assistance to the flood victims.
