The moon of the holy Safar month of 1446 Hijri was not seen anywhere in the sky of Bangladesh today (August 5). As a result, the 30 days of the holy month of Muharram will be completed tomorrow, Tuesday, August 6, and the holy Safar month will be counted from Wednesday, August 7. In view of this next 29th Safar 1446 Hijri, 20th Bhadra 1431 Bangald, 4th September 2024 AD will be celebrated on Wednesday the holy Akhiri Chahar Somba.

Director General of Islamic Foundation (Additional Secretary) Dr. Maha. This decision was taken in the National Moon Sighting Committee meeting held under the chairmanship of Bashirul Alam.

The meeting reviewed the information received from all district administrations, Islamic Foundation head office, divisional and district offices, Bangladesh Meteorological Department and Space Research and Remote Sensing Institute about the sighting of the moon in the holy Safar month of 1446 Hijri and found that today 29 Muharram 1446 Hijri, 21 Shravan 1431 Bangabd, 5 August 2024 AD Monday evening, there was no news of sighting of the moon of the holy Safar month anywhere in the sky of Bangladesh.
