Today, Tuesday, the Holy Karbala Governorate announced the development of a 6-pronged plan to rehabilitate the governorate’s sewers.

The Director of Karbala Sewerage, Ahmed Magtouf, told the (INA): “The first axis includes the maintenance of networks that reach two thousand kilometers in length. These networks and lengths have been divided into sixteen sectors in the city center only, in addition to the districts and sub-districts, especially the Hillah axis, which is expected to be the most dense,” indicating that “the directorate is continuing with cleaning and maintaining the networks.”
He added, “The second axis is the axis of lifting stations, and their number is more than 40 stations distributed throughout the holy Karbala Governorate,” indicating that “the third axis is concerned with mechanisms, as more than three hundred and ten mechanisms have been provided that will participate in this campaign.”
He added, “The fourth axis is the axis of wastewater treatment plants and their treatment, which receive more than one million cubic meters of water that must be treated, especially liquid waste,” noting that “the fifth axis is the media axis, and it is very important.”
He pointed out that “the sixth axis is concerned with service staff, which includes craftsmen, technicians and engineers, numbering more than a thousand employees, in addition to occupational safety and first aid requirements.”
