BOLZANO. The Bolzano Carabinieri have made an arrest for attempted burglary in flagrante. It all started with a tip-off from some residents of the “Don Bosco” neighborhood of Bolzano, who, having noticed the “glue seal” ploy, had alerted the Carabinieri.
The latest technique used by criminals, which is becoming increasingly widespread, consists of “marking” the entrance doors of various apartments with simple glue. During the numerous inspections by thieves, if they notice that this “seal” remains intact, it means that the apartment in question is temporarily unoccupied, and therefore a perfect target to burgle.
The investigations carried out by the military, also thanks to the recordings of surveillance cameras, allowed them to identify some potential targets of apartment burglars. Last night, thanks to a specific service of observation, control and shadowing, the military managed to identify and intercept a foreign citizen who was wandering, without any apparent reason, in one of the common gardens of that residential area, intent, most likely, on finding his next target. Subjected to control, he was found in possession of tools potentially related to lock picking. Thus the arrest was made.
