Half of professionals who work from home are dedicating more time to work compared to their face-to-face journeys. This is the conclusion of a survey carried out by the Jobs.com.br portal in partnership with the University of Brasília (UnB).

The study, which interviewed 257 workers throughout Brazil, reveals that 49.4% carry out activities outside of business hours to complete their tasks; 47.5% say that their superiors or colleagues contact them to deal with demands even after working hours; while 45.1% state that they work more at home compared to the face-to-face work environment.

Although the survey did not investigate the positions of the interviewees, who range from 18 to 55 years old, it was found that 22.2% of them have a higher education degree and 19.8% have postgraduate training, which may indicate more senior positions. qualified.

“Having passed three years since the beginning of remote work due to covid-19, organizations are still facing difficulties in relation to this work model”, evaluates the manager of Empregos.com.br, Tábata Silva.

According to her, the main challenges to be faced include time management and communication.

“Both leaders and employees often feel the need to ‘prove’ that they are working remotely,” he adds.

In view of the data obtained, the expert suggests that leaders invest in more efficient communication with teams that operate from home offices.

“An excess of control is not aligned with productivity”, he emphasizes. “Cooperation, trust and flexibility must be the basis of professional relationships.”
