(ANSA) – ROME, JULY 16 – The Environment and Public Works Commission of the Chamber of Deputies has given the green light to the rule on micro-apartments of up to 20 square meters in the Salva-Casa decree. The government is expected to reformulate the so-called Salva-Milano on building permits for the cases of skyscrapers and other buildings targeted by the prosecutor’s office as alleged abuses. “Yesterday we voted on a few amendments and finished around 10:30 p.m., today we will vote on what’s left,” said MP Dario Iaia (Fdi), rapporteur in the commission together with Erica Mazzetti (Fi), confirming that the green light will arrive in the commission by today and the measure “will be in the chamber tomorrow”. The new rules on micro-apartments provide that studio flats can be habitable with a minimum surface area of 20 square meters for one person (from the current 28) and 28 square meters for two people (now 38 are needed). The minimum height of internal rooms goes from 2.7 meters to the limit of 2.4 meters. The condition is that the buildings are undergoing renovations to ensure suitable hygienic-sanitary conditions.
