In a frenzy of blood, a lynch mob killed an Italian in Honduras on Thursday. 600 people were involved, as reported by several media.
The attack took place in the village of Santa Ana de Yusguare in the south of the Central American country.

Reason for the insane act: The residents accused Giorgio Scanu of having killed the homeless Juan de Dios Flores († 74) because he is said to have felled a tree on the Italian’s property.
The angry crowd tortured Giorgio Scanu with stones and sticks until he died. The lynch mob then burned the victim’s house and car.

Five suspects between the ages of 19 and 55 were arrested. At the time of the crime, some patrol officers were also present. However, they could not do anything against the overwhelming power of 600 people.
