Honduras will require a visa to consult any Costa Rican citizen who wants to visit the Central American country.
This was confirmed this Monday by the Honduran Foreign Ministry, who assures that the measure is taken “applying the principle of reciprocity.”
They add that the measure applies as of this Tuesday “without any exception.”
Honduras made the decision after, days ago, Costa Rica applied the same measure.
According to Mario Zamora, Minister of Public Security, Costa Rica made the decision for a matter of “national security.”
Especially due to the increase in cases of people of Honduran nationality living in Limón who are linked to drug trafficking and crime.
