The production version of the Hongqi E001 electric sedan from FAW was spotted in China during a road test. The car has some notable differences from the version shown at the Shanghai Motor Show in April.
The E001 gets a fake huge black grille that it doesn’t really need since it’s an electric car, aggressive air vents and a chrome front spoiler. Its headlights have also been changed.
Inside the E001 is a curved screen that includes the dashboard and main screen. There will also be a head-up display with augmented reality. All this will work under the control of FAW.OS of our own design.
Its steering wheel is also quite unique, with two spokes and a cut off bottom. Near the armrest there are two platforms for charging smartphones. There are no handles on the door cards. You can open them by clicking on the button.
The Hongqi E001 sedan will receive two engines with a total power of 618 hp. and a maximum torque of 756 Nm. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h will take 3.9 seconds. The size of the battery has not yet been disclosed, but it is known that it is produced using Cell-to-Pack (CTP) technology, and a long-range version with a power reserve of 800 will allow the battery to be replaced in 60 seconds at appropriate stations.
Hongqi E001 will be able to replenish the range of 350 km in 5 minutes of charging. The sedan will support 30kW wireless charging, in addition, Hongqi will also release a version with a range of 1,000 km.
E001 will appear on the Chinese market in November this year. Later Hongqi E001 may appear in Europe. The first buyers will receive a lifetime warranty and free lifetime maintenance.
