HONOR is struggling. Motorola has managed to double the sales that this brand had in the past month of July in our country, thus gaining quite a few positions. However, it has not been the only one that has outperformed HONOR; it is surprising to see that there are many companies that were fighting to improve their market share that have also surpassed HONOR. For example, VIVO is managing to position itself strongly in the Spanish market.

The consultancy that we have accessed through Topes de Gama has been clear about the data it analyzed: HONOR is failing almost scandalously. Perhaps it is time for the brand to take stock of the measures it has taken so far and opt for completely different ones. Because if this continues, no improvement is foreseen on the horizon.

HONOR fails in Spain once again

The company led by Huang Wei is not managing to sell mobile phones in our country. This is not something that surprises us much, as this situation has been prolonged for quite some time. However, it is indeed concerning that they are not working to improve their market share in a country like ours.

In the graph we have attached above, it can be clearly seen that HONOR’s market share is minimal right now. So much so that, in July 2024, companies like Motorola managed to double their numbers. What can be seen in the graph are the units of smartphones sold, not their value.

If we analyze the rest of the months in retrospect, we can glimpse that the situation is far from improving. Moreover, all signs point to continuing decreases in sales over time. Users prefer to bet on much more established brands, such as Apple, Xiaomi, or Samsung. They are even giving opportunities to companies that are fighting to make a name for themselves in the market, but in which they feel they can trust more than in HONOR, such as VIVO.

The figure should be alarming for the brand: they sell less than 3% of smartphones in our country. A brand that, seemingly, had everything to succeed… has ended up being one of the significant failures of recent years. Despite the change in CEO, it seems that the policy changes they have implemented have not been the most appropriate.

Samsung, Xiaomi, and Apple dominate 75% of the Spanish market

What is undeniable, after analyzing this data, is that there are three brands that stand out as the best-selling in Spain in recent months: Samsung, Xiaomi, and Apple. Moreover, the latter is one of the absolute winners regarding value, as well as one of the top choices among those opting for high-end products. Both Xiaomi and Samsung also remain strong in this regard, with an added advantage: their catalogs cover other ranges, such as mid-range and low-end, thus offering more possibilities for all types of users.

HONOR has much to learn and much to improve, at least if it wants to maintain some market share in Spain. Because if everything continues like this, it could soon end up disappearing.
